Color Palette

Colors are important for a consistent brand experience. These are our colors and how to use them.

Brand Colors

Color is an essential component of our brand and is what makes a communication immediately recognizable as Sonatype's. Our palette balances the seriousness and sophistication of neutrals with bold, vibrant colors in the form of Blue, Yellow and Orange. The combination is as confident as it is engaging to our audiences.

Color Ratios

The graphic below shows the proportion of colors that should be used when creating materials for Sonatype. This is a general target for the percentage and proportion of colors used in any given layout and is based off of a 60-30-10 theory. Notice the absence of secondary colors aside from Sonatype Green which is included due to its use as a UI/UX action color for buttons. But outside of Sonatype Green, secondary colors are used sparingly. The exceptions are in product snippets and data visualizations.

Accessibility

Accessible color contrast improves readability and navigation for visually impaired users. As such, we've done color contrast checking to determine the color combinations that create accessible color and typography choices on web and in print. Those combinations are specified on this page. Do not deviate from these combinations.
