Published: November 04, 2009 08:00

Hippo, the leading developer of web-based, open source Enterprise CMS / Portal software, with offices in San Francisco and Amsterdam, has partnered with Sonatype, the Maven company, headquartered in Mountain View, California.

Under the partnership Sonatype helps Hippo provide a sophisticated developer platform on the Hippo Forge, enabling developers to efficiently build new Hippo implementations from the growing list of available components.

Hippo’s CEO, Jeroen Verberg, said: “We are witnessing strong demand in all our core markets. The products and technical expertise of Sonatype help our customers and implementation partners to optimize their software build and release infrastructure when deploying our products. We look forward to working with Sonatype to bring their products and expertise to the Hippo eco-system.”

Hippo has successfully employed Sonatype’s products for internal development and many implementations in the past. The partnership further strengthens the relationship between the two companies and provides Hippo’s customers with access to the Sonatype product suite and its expert knowledge, as well as ensures optimal synergy when building Hippo with Maven / Sonatype tools.

“Hippo’s team has proven a serious commitment to openness and standardization to help integrators and end-users build customized solutions. Sonatype is a strong believer in this model. By working with Hippo we will continue to grow the Sonatype Nexus and Maven eco-system,” said Jason van Zyl, the creator of Apache Maven and founder of Sonatype.
